Allschwil is situated in the Canton of ´Basel Country´ (Basel-Landschaft) in the north-western corner of Switzerland. As one of the oldest cities in the country, it boasts a population of more than 18'500, of which approximately 20% are foreigners.

Typical Alsace building styled houses and buildings can be found in and around the town square (Dorfplatz). With its excellent public transport connections, forest, closeness to France and Basel the city has much to offer.
